The Adult Learning Program at Lord Selkirk Education Centre
We are located in the Lord Selkirk Education Centre (LSEC) and offer high school courses for adults. We have regularly scheduled group classes and individualized instruction as needed. Most students graduate as mature students within one year.
We are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 4:00. In addition to morning and afternoon classes, we offer teacher-instructed courses Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.
Individual Credits
Need a specific high school credit as a pre-requisite in a post-secondary program?
Whether it’s one course or several, we can help you meet entry requirements.
The Diploma Program
If you are looking to earn your high school diploma, we offer regular and mature student options, depending on your age and previous credits.
See our Diploma Programs to learn more.
Classes
Classes are scheduled for 2.5 hours, once per week. Essentials Math 40S has an additional tutorial section that students must attend. Students are expected to spend at least as much time on homework outside of this class time.
Some courses have more than one class section, and if you cannot attend your regular class one day, you can attend the alternate section on the same day. Always contact your instructor if you will be missing a class for any reason.
Missing one class is the same as missing an entire week of work, and attendance is crucial. Please see our Attendance Policy for more details.
